Financial Services Department

The Financial Services Department is responsible for the financial integrity and stability of the district. This responsibility encompasses the comprehensive development and oversight of both annual and multi-year fiscal operating budgets. Furthermore, the department manages all general accounting functions and administers district-wide payroll services.

Certified Enrollment and State Funding

Funding allocated to Iowa school districts for student education is directly contingent upon certified enrollment data.

Certified enrollment represents the official headcount of students residing within the district boundaries, as formally documented by districts on the first day of October of each academic year.

Pursuant to state legislation, certified enrollment figures are an integral component of the funding formula that determines the allocation of state aid. This calculation incorporates weighting provisions, which provide supplemental financial resources for specific student populations, such as those requiring English Language Learning (ELL) support.
