The Mason City Community School District Communications Department is dedicated to keeping students, families, staff, and the community informed and engaged.  Our goal is to share the great things happening across our district while ensuring clear, accurate, and timely communication.

The Communications and Public Relations Coordinator serves as the primary storyteller and information resource for the district.  Responsibilities include:

  • Managing district-wide internal and external communication
  • Coordinating news releases, newsletters, and social media updates
  • Maintaining the district website
  • Supporting the schools and programs with branding and marketing
  • Highlighting student and staff achievements and district events

Our purpose is to build strong connections between our schools and the community.  By promoting transparency, celebrating successes, and fostering trust, we strive to ensure every family, staff member, and community partner feels informed and valued.

Public Record Request

Iowa’s public records law allows for any person to make a request to local and state government agencies.  Many reports, data, policies, and other information are available on this website.  While many public records are available at no costs and in a short amount of time, state law does allow public entities to charge for the actual costs associated with compiling records prior to discovery.  If you would like to submit a Public Record Request, please use the request form.
